Each year, the Stage Artz Theatre Company and the Stage Artz Performing Arts School combine to produce a family musical to raise money for The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. Currently, Stage Artz charity musicals have raised $138,000 for the kids at Westmead!!

For many years, our audiences have been asking us to stage OLIVER!… however, our reputation for staging new musicals and Australian premiere productions has driven us to continue searching for newly written material.  This year, we resumed our search for a new family show, but we weren’t excited by any of the choices…. so we decided to take the opportunity and finally stage the musical we have wanted to produce for so long, the legendary OLIVER!.  Stage Artz will be performing the newest version of this multi-award winning musical (recently revised for the London stage).  We are so incredibly excited to finally have the opportunity to stage OLIVER!.  For Stage Artz, this show has been a long time coming… and we plan on making it worth the wait!!

Hailed as one of the greatest musicals of all time, OLIVER!, based on the Charles Dickens novel “Oliver Twist”, is the story of a young orphan boy who wanted “more”.  The brilliant musical score includes an array of favourite songs including: “Consider Yourself”, “Food Glorious Food”, “You’ve Got To Pick A Pocket Or Two”, “As Long As He Needs Me”, “I’d Do Anything”, “Where Is Love?” and many more.  OLIVER! is the perfect family musical –  engagingly powerful and ultimately uplifting – an unforgettable story of a remarkable boy in search of love, family and his place in the world.
